Be All That Without a Bag of Chips!

Cycle Riding- best online workouts plans to be a Fit Woman Over 50

Hi there! It’s Lauren again from “Lauren Fox on Demand.” We’ve all heard that saying, “She thinks she is all that and a bag of chips!!” LOL! Well, I want to talk about how to be “all that” in a positive way… without the chips!! (Unless you want to bake your own with a light spray of extra virgin olive oil.)

I am always giving you nutrition tips, so today I want to talk about being a positive person and trying to become the best version of you. When you take the time to care for yourself, then you will be so much better for everyone else in your life. This applies to men and women, but let’s face it… as women, so much more is expected of us. We all need Superwoman capes for sure! Most of us have a long list of to-dos for everyone else daily. There are 1, 440 minutes in a day, so you can pencil in 60 for you! Try to workout at least 3-6 days a week. I know you will average 4 or 5 a week if you have big #goals! But once you get in the habit, you will find you have more energy, feel better, look better and smile more!

So, let’s talk about those smiles! I have always heard that it takes more muscles to frown than smile, though the science behind this is a bit inconclusive. What is true, though, is that the more you smile, the better it impacts you. Something as small as a smile could do so much more than you realize. A simple smile can make someone else’s day while you enjoy yours.

Positivity breeds positivity, so that is what you want to spread around the world. Don’t be a “Negative Nancy”—you won’t attract the right people in your circle. Surround yourself with people who see the good in the world. Build each other up and encourage each other when one of you has a tough day. We all do! How you think determines how you feel, so think positively and hang out with others who do the same! One thing that can be helpful when trying to stay positive is remembering all the things you have to be grateful for. It may sound cliché, but bringing to mind all the reasons you have to be thankful can help you reframe any situation, any day.

I get it… sometimes finding that positive attitude can be hard. We all have those days! Try taking a moment to slow down and press pause on that busy routine. Maybe it’s right before or after a workout. That’s why I like to end my Celeb Barre class with a few minutes of breathing… inhaling the positive and exhaling the negative. It only takes a minute or two and it works a world of good! If you’re going to make your way down that to-do list for all the other people in your life, you have to take care of yourself, too.

Positivity won’t come if you’re too busy beating yourself up for all the things you didn’t get done or the things you could have done better. Instead of looking at the glass half empty, make the choice to see it half full! If you didn’t finish everything on your list, then you have a great place to start tomorrow. No one gets it right all the time. Be kind to yourself. In doing so, you’ll show other people they can be kind to themselves, too. Set a positive, healthy example for those around you… you’d be surprised at what the power of positivity can do!

When it comes to becoming the best version of you, finding that positive attitude makes all the difference… and you can start small! I know I said to aim to workout 3-6 times a week, but if that’s daunting, just try once a week. It’s a small enough goal that you may find yourself wanting more after just one workout a week. If it’s about the relationships in your life, find one person who’s always seeing the bright side of things and plan a time to get together. Start surrounding yourself with the positivity you hope to have. If you start to feel yourself getting down about something you didn’t get done, remind yourself of all the things you DID get done! One step in the right direction is all it takes you set you down a path of positivity. You can do it!

You won’t need that bag of chips anymore… you’ll be the person who’s “all that” on her own!

Until next time, xoxo! 🦊
